Breedah made a second appearance to Naples this month to discover what this beautiful beach town had to offer. This time, we chose some very different locations that proved to hold a weekend of local flavor, sites and sounds for both locals and visitors alike.

The Bayfront Inn, Naples is the quaint and quiet waterfront hotel, that provides the simplicity and comfort of a romantic weekend getaway. “Caribbean Chic” in style, the tropical décor and charming view of Naples Bay, invites guests to stop and relax. The outdoor amenities of the hotel, include a heated pool and outdoor bar, where guests can enjoy a drink watching the sunset, or savor a coffee at sunrise. Guests also have access to a 12-slip marina where they can dock their own boat, or take advantage of the marina’s charter services, and boat rentals.

If you are looking to watch the infamous Naples sunset, look no further than Naples Pier, located a short drive away. This white sandy beach beach resembles a Costa Rican paradise; visit for a sunset like no other, or take to the sand for a day in the sunshine.

Heading into evening, 5th Avenue in Downtown Naples is defiantly the spot to dine. If you are looking to discover the gem of this strip, look no further than Bistro 821. Rated highly by tourists and locals alike, this spot boasts a romantic european style atmosphere and a menu that incorporates a variety of local flavor. For the ultimate experience, sit outside under the gently lit palms, and browse the menu’s sample platter; a unique menu option offered by the restaurant, where you can pick and choose a few “half portions” to try on one plate. Suggestions include the tantalizing Grilled Jumbo Prawns with Crispy Sushi Rice Cake with a Sweet & Spicy Thai Chili Peanut Sauce garnished with Crushed Peanuts, as well as the melt-in-your-mouth Sea Bass Filet, glazed in a Miso-Sake Marinade. Continue the Asian theme with a taste of the Coconut, Ginger and Lemon Grass Encrusted Snapper, served with Coconut-Ginger Jasmine Rice, Stir-Fry Vegetables and a Sweet and Spicy Thai Chili Peanut Sauce.  The latter, washed down with a crisp glass of white wine, under the lights of 5th Avenue, make for an evening to remember.

If you are in town for the weekend, Breedah recommends exploring the town, the beaches and the waters of this beautiful West Coast area. One area, perhaps best know for it’s famous hangout is Crayton Cove. This spot, which hosts a string of cute boutique shops and a marina of boats, is also home to The Dock at Crayton Cove; a truly local spot with the best brunch and lunch to be found for miles. Set on the water, overlooking the docks, the authentic Floridian style ambience of this restaurant, only enhances it’s delicious food. Famous for preparing the freshest fish with Caribbean and Latin influences; The Dock at Crayton Cove, is also known for it’s infamous bloody mary bar on Sundays.

If you are there for lunch, be sure to get your hands on a Key Lime Colada, and try appetizers such as their Island Style Coconut Shrimp , served with Seasonal Tropical Fruit, Palm Sugar sauce and Fresh mint. Other recommendations include their Great Dock Shrimp Canoe (The Dock’s unique version of a shrimp cocktail) and the Macadamia Grouper Fingers with Crispy Tostones, Pineapple Salsa, Scallions and Bermuda Triangle Sauce. Brunch is equally not to miss! GW recommends trying the Lobster Omelette, or their take on a Crab Cake Benedict. Oh and wait, did we mention the Bloody Mary Bar…again…the best we have seen yet.

As The Dock on Crayton Cove says, “we give people what Naples is all about – Bay views, great food and a laid-back attitude.” If that is what you are looking for in a weekend, look no further than this Floridan, West Coast town.
